Mary Ann Peglow, 83, passed from this life on March 17, 2024.
Mary Ann was born in La Porte, Indiana, on Sept. 26, 1940, as Mary Ann Marszalek. The family surname was later changed to Marshall. She attended Sacred Heart School, and in 1959 graduated from La Porte High School. She attended Ball State University for the 1959/1960 year, with intentions of a business major.
Mary Ann left college and married Richard D. Peglow of La Porte on Sept. 2, 1961. Mary Ann was married to Richard (Dennis) for 18 years, living in La Porte, Ft. Wayne, Gary, Merrillville, Tampa, Florida, and then returning to La Porte in 1969, all while raising two children, (divorced 1980).
She was a devoted and tender-hearted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She remained in La Porte until 2010, then moving to Jensen Beach, Florida.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances Marshall of La Porte; and her siblings, John Marshall (Elizabeth) and Irene Smith (Grover). Also preceded in death by her former husband, Richard D. Peglow. Surviving are her two children, Richard B. Peglow (Sherry) of Indianapolis, and Deborah K. Ryan (Tim) of Jensen Beach/Stuart, Florida; four grandchildren, Kristie K. Kozlik (Andrew), Kyle Ryan, Sage M. Bonner (Derek) and Luca V. Peglow; and one great-grandchild, Kaleigh Kozlik. Mary Ann was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She always loved to laugh, listen and dance to music, watch classic movies, and just enjoy the simple-life, while always loving and supporting her kids and extended family, unconditionally. Her gentle soul and loving nature will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Please smile, laugh, dance, and cherish the fragrance of flowers in her memory.

I grew up living near Mary Ann w/ both our friend Louise Santeria on West St. She was a lovely person a few years older than Louise & myself but childhood friends . Her brother John Marshall
& Libby were very good friends. Prayers & Love to all of her family, may she rest in Peace w/God above!
