Mary Fortunato Peglow

Mary Fortunato Peglow of Yorktown passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the age of 100. Mary was born on April 11, 1924, in Washington D.C., to the late Nicholas Antonio and Patrina Rodano Fortunato, the second born of five sisters and five brothers. She worked at the Pentagon in the Weather Room and later in life in the cafeteria at Tabb Middle School. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Pete" Richard Peglow, and son, Robert David Peglow. She is survived by her son, Richard Dale Peglow (Renee), daughter Linda Nester (Larry), grandchildren Amanda Nester Hoffman (Robert), Steven Anthony Nester (Suzanne), Justin Richard Peglow, Nicole Marie Peglow, and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Gloucester House Senior Living for the loving care they provided over the past two years. In memory of Mary, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association at 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
