Mary Eva (Salls) Audet of Hyde Park, VT passed away June 3, 2025. She was born November 28, 1962, in Burien, WA to Kenneth and Addie (Curtis) Salls. Mary graduated from Peoples Academy in 1980. After high school, she went to Culinary School in New Hampshire, where she lived and worked until her son, Ian, was born in 1985, and she moved back to Vermont.
Mary was a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her children, Ian and Brook. Once she was hired at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, she was able to give up 3 of her jobs and spend more time with her children and family. After over 20 years at Coffee Roasters, she then got a job closer to home at Butternut Mtn Farms. For someone who didn't like maple syrup, she dealt with it everyday (lol!).
Mary met her future husband on a blind date, they were married a few years later on August 5, 2006, and they lived happily in their home in Hyde Park for over 20 years. Mary and Scott enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, trying out new restaurants, and working at Lamoille County Field Days. She loved being in the ticket booth with the ladies. Mary was a part of Franklin Lamoille Fire School with her husband, Scott, for many years. She was also a member of Eastern Star for 18 years to help with dinners, along with Mason dinners.
Mary enjoyed creating new flower beds, embroidery, and drawing. Family was very important to Mary, and you could often find her at the Salls Family home, sitting around a table playing Canasta, or doing her favorite thing, mowing her lawn.
Mary would tell you her greatest accomplishment was her children, Ian and Brook. She was very proud of them and the lives they built.
She was a fighter, and she faced all of the challenges thrown at her with courage, grace, and a sense of humor. Her smile and laughter were infectious to all who met her, and she will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her husband, Scott; her children, Ian and Brook; her step-daughter, Abby; her grandchildren, Addie Mae, Dominic, Patrick, Ava, Ivy and Mason, Westin, Arlo; her great-grandson, Grayson; her mother, Addie; siblings, Kenny, Scott, Addie Mae, and Sharon; and nieces and nephews, Megan, Bobby, Jared, Curtis, Kenny, Wayne, and Cullen.
She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Salls Sr., and her brother, Curtis.
Special thanks to the Berlin Dialysis Center, EMTs from NEMS, and Officer Perry from LCSD.
