Mary Jane Ayers-Fox, age 67, of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, passed away following a long battle with cancer, on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Born in Orange County, California, on September 23, 1958, to the late Curtis Ray and Lizzie Beth Paul, Mary Jane devoted her life to being a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being outside, working in her flowers, spending time with family and friends and adding to her cherished owl collection. Mary Jane loved attending church services and serving in her church of over ten years, at Calvary Baptist Church of Cumberland Gap. Mary Jane and her unforgettable sense of humor, will forever be loved and missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Robert Jason Ayers; ex-spouse, father to her children and friend, Bobby Ayers; one brother, Hank Paul; and special maternal grandmother, Sarah Burchett.
Survivors include one son, Michael Ayers; one grandson, Dalton (Shannon) Ayers; two brothers, Lonnie Ray (Wanda) Paul and Wayne (Angelisa) Paul; one sister, Birdie Ann (Rick) Partin; special caregivers and friends, Lisa Sutherland, Jackie Wilkinson, Jackie Monhollen, Vickie Caldwell and Bill Bailey; special sister-in-law and neighbor, Wanda Ellison; a host of special nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Floyd and Opie.
Funeral Services will be held at Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, in Harrogate, Tennessee, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2PM, with Pastor Bobby Partin and Bro. Wayne Hughes officiating.
Visitation will be held, at the funeral home, from 12PM until time of services.
Interment to immediately follow funeral services at Harrogate Cemetery.
Special music to be provided by the Partin Family.
Family and friends to serve as pallbearers.
