Mary Bartelt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snow Funeral Home - Saginaw on Mar. 2, 2026.
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 81 years. Daughter of the late Ronald H. and Harriet (Greene) Boylen, Mary Ann was born September 22, 1944, in Gladwin, Michigan. She was a 1962 graduate of Gladwin High School. She then moved to Saginaw where she graduated from Saginaw Business Institute. She was married to William Charles Bartelt, her loving husband of 56 years, on March 27, 1965. He predeceased her on December 13, 2021. Mary was employed at the radio station WKNX "the home of the good guys" before becoming a stay-at-home mom for her four children. Once the kids were older, she started to babysit numerous other little ones over the years. She truly enjoyed this and left a lasting impression on them. Mary Ann loved her flower gardens and keeping the lawn in tip top shape. She was also very good at coming up with her creative country style crafts. Most of all she loved her family along with her fury friends, "Grady and Izzie".

Surviving to cherish her memory are one son and three daughters, Billy and Lisa Bartelt, Saginaw; Bridget and Ray Hausbeck, Boyne City; Amy and John Guerrero, Allendale; Ann Bartelt Nowicki, Saginaw; six grandchildren, Brittany and Andrew Eldridge, Brandi and Logan Gatza, Rylee and Jake Boverhof, Jarrad Guerrero, Charley Guerrero, Jack Guerrero; three great-grandchildren, Parker Eldridge, Blair Eldridge, Jaxon Gatza and baby Gatza on the way; one brother, Larry Boylen, Gladwin; a half-sister, Wendy Boman, Midland; sisters-in-law, Judi Brown, Onaway; Roxanne Boylen, Hemlock; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Boylen; a sister-in-law, Diane Boylen; and three brothers-in-law, Frederick Bartelt, Tim Brown, and Robert Bartelt.

A special thanks to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Optimal Care for the loving care given to Mary Ann and her family.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor Gary Bender will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Bartelt's wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
