Barbara Elaine Green

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully at the Toni & Trish House in Auburn, Michigan with her family at her side. Age 80 years. Daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Foy) Zak, Barbara was born June 16, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Terrence L. Smith. She was later married to Edwin A. Green, her loving husband for 43 years, on July 28, 1978. He predeceased her July 6, 2021. Barbara was a member of St. John Paul II Parish and very involved in the parish. Barbara enjoyed cooking, camping and especially spending time with her family. She was a friend to all.

Surviving to cherish her memory are four daughters, Erica (David) Wood, Colleen (David) Lunt, Heidi (Todd) Castle and Heather Smith and her husband Jim Carney; 13 grandchildren, Ryan, Simone, Moriah, Gabrielle, Charis, John-Michael, Caitrin, Gianna, Sasha, Jeremy, Levon, Grant and Aubrey; eight great-grandchildren, Aria, Emerson, Magdalena, John, Peter, Miriam, Sebastian, Thomas and two angels on the way; three sisters, Jane Maday, Linda Schwaderer and Christine Powers, many nieces and nephews especially, Maureen Schultz. Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Catherine Czajka.

A special thanks to Barb's special friend, Lisa DelValle and her god child, Chloe DelValle and deepest appreciation to the staff at Toni & Trish House and Covenant Hospice Staff especially, Brooke, Bree, Toni, Kayla and Tyler.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles, Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. James Bessert will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Green's wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Toni & Trish House.
