Born in Staatsburg, NY, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Horan. She married Charles Ernest Baxter on June 16, 1940; he predeceased her on April 25, 1989. Her son, Charles Albert Baxter, also predeceased her on May 14, 2021.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, June Thomas of Ocala, FL; her grandchildren Wade (Amanda) Sargent, Summer Sargent, Brye Sargent, Charles (Amy) Baxter, Michela Baxter, and Neil (Tianna) Baxter; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as a waitress at the Blossom Farm Inn for 28 years. Mary Ann was known for her love of baking and even sold her desserts locally. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida as a "snowbird" until the age of 80.
Mary spent 17 years living at Jenny's Gardens in Marlboro, NY, where she made many cherished friendships.
A graveside burial will be held at Lloyd Union Cemetery on New Paltz Road in Highland, NY on August 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
