Mary Ann Brand

Mary Ann Brand, a cherished member of the New Baltimore community and a beloved educator, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Village of East Harbor in Chesterfield, MI.
Born on April 29, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Ann was the devoted daughter of the late Paul and Georgia (Kafcas) Johns. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard C. Brand, and her siblings, Cynthia and James Johns.
Mary Ann is survived by her adoring sons, Richard "DJ" (Monique) Brand and Derek (Andrea) Brand. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Luke, who brought immense joy to her life.
Mary Ann's life was defined by her passion for teaching. She dedicated her career to the Lakeview School District in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues before her retirement.
A visitation in her honor will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel, located at 35259 23 Mile Rd. in New Baltimore, MI. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, also at the Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel.
Mary Ann Brand's legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her years as a dedicated educator and community member.
