Mary passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at MyMichigan Hospital in Saginaw, age 77. Born on October 31, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander M. and Marie Antoinette (Charbonneau) MacGregor, Jr.
Mary graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1966 and dedicated 20 years of her career as a ward clerk at General Hospital. On June 5, 1978, she married the love of her life, Jerome S. "Jerry" Burzynski, who predeceased her on November 21, 2018.
Mary had a deep love for hummingbirds and cherished the time spent with her family and her husband, Jerry. She embraced life with joy, finding relaxation in maintaining her yard and delighting others with her exceptional cooking and baking skills. Mary was always eager to share her delicious recipes with anyone who asked. She also had a special place in her heart for her dog, Abbey, whom she loved to spoil.
Mary's warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mark (Christine) Burzynski, Scott Burzynski, Jackie Rhea, and Jerome Thomas "JT" (Jessie) Burzynski, grandchildren: Brooke Ann Burzynski, Tori Lynn Burzynski, Jacob Tyler Rhea, and Angel Burzynski, brother Alexander (Joyce) MacGregor, III, sister Linda Doan and sister-in-law Jeanette Anvia. Mary was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Marie, sister Vivian (Robert) Struck, brothers-in-law: Jerry Lee Doan and Thomas Anvia, and sister-in-law Eleanor (Floyd) VanHorn.
Per Mary's wish, cremation will take place. A gathering of her family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City, MI 48706. A service will take place at 5:00 PM. Mary's final resting place will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
