Mary Rose Cake

Mary Rose Cake, 93, passed away, August 7, in the early hours of the morning. Mary loved mornings, often getting up at 4:00 am, to enjoy coffee and watch the sunrise. Mary was born in Unionville, Missouri, in 1932, and although raised traditionally, she was anything but average. Her faith in God, inspired how she treated every person in her life, or even those in her purview. Although only at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab briefly, she touched so many lives.
Mary's early life included being a mother to 4 children, but included so much more. She never let the traditions of her generation, dictate her contribution in life. She was a small business owner of a full service gas station, including towing and repair of semis. She worked in manufacturing, did telemarketing before it was a thing, and found numerous ways to support her family, and also fulfill her need to grow and contribute.
Mary is survived by her four children, Carroll Cake, (Kathy) Roger Cake, Deborah Fortin (John Vincent) and Pat Stowers. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Audra Brandt, Veronica Cake, Matthew Harker, and Megan Stowers. Mary enjoyed her great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren.
