Mary Ann Calhoun

Mary Ann (Willoughby) Calhoun South Mills, NC - Mary Ann Willoughby Calhoun, age 88, of Camden, NC, died at her niece's home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Born in Roper, NC, on January 31, 1937, to the late Adren Augustus Willoughby and Mildred Adele Leary Willoughby, she was the widow of William Edward Calhoun. Mary Ann worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the state of Florida as a secretary until her retirement. She was a member of South Mills Church of Christ for over 20 years. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friend, Melvin, and loved her fur babies.

Mary Ann is survived by a sister, Dean Moss; nieces, Sherri Lassiter and Sheila Spivey (Jimmy); her special friend, Melvin Cutrell; and a host of extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Cathy Wood; her infant son, William Edward Calhoun, Jr.; and her brother, Adren "Leary" Willoughby.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at South Mills Church of Christ with Minister Ron Stuart officiating. The family will greet visitors immediately following the service at the church and at other times at her niece, Sherri's, home.
