Mary Ann Cameron passed away on Wednesday at The Addison in Cherry Hill, where she resided from September 2025 until her death. She was 91.
Born in Mt Holly, Mary Ann McCullough was a long time Mt Holly resident. She later resided in Lumberton for 9 years and in Cherry Hill for the remainder of her life.
In 1951 she graduated from Rancocas Valley High School. Then continued her education at the Ann May School of Nursing in Neptune, NJ where she earned her nursing degree and became an RN.
In 1956 she worked for Ford, Lockhart & Contreas ob/gyn in Burlington NJ. Then in 1976 she became a visiting nurse with the Moorestown Visiting Nurses Assoc until her retirement. In 1976 she was the winner of the 1st Ida Croft Nurse of the Year for Moorestown VNA.
Mary Ann was born to care for and help others. She was a nurse by profession, but caregiving was truly her calling. Throughout her life, she lovingly took care of her father, her husband, her mother, and many other family members and friends. Even in her final moments, she remained more concerned about everyone else than herself.
She was a compassionate, loving woman of deep faith-a quiet hero who helped those who could not help themselves. Mary Ann carried herself with remarkable patience and strength, touching countless lives through her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to others.
She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John Cameron Sr and is survived by 4 children: John M. (Cheryl) Cameron, Jr. of Lumberton; Steven (Jane) Cameron of Lumberton; Thomas (late Linda) Cameron of Rancocas; and Sharon (Robert) Yerkes of Lumberton; Eight grandchildren: John (Amy), Colleen (Josh), Kristen (Tim), Nicole (Damon), Michelle (friend
Terry), Aimee (Kenny), Matthew (Ann), and Alyssa (fiancé Tyler); and 17 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Clair H McCullough and her mother Mary G McCullough and is survived by her brother Robert McCullough of Eastampton.
Mary Ann and John especially enjoyed following the Winston Cup Races and traveling in their RV. Also spending time supporting the many activities of the grandchildren & great grandchildren. She enjoyed Tuesday night dinner out with family and friends. Reading books and word finders kept her busy later in life.
Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 12 Noon – 1:45pm at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St.,
Mount Holly, NJ. Eulogies will be shared at 1:45pm and a Funeral Service will follow at 2pm at the Funeral Home. Burial in the Mount Holly Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Ann's memory may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 121 High St., Mount Holly or to a charity of the donor's choice.
