Mary Ruth Heffington Canup, Momma, born on March 19, 1950, in Decatur, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 25, 2024 with family by her side in Arlington, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at White's Azle Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2024 at White's Azle Funeral Home.

Mary  will be laid to rest in Nelson Cemetery near Reno following the service.

Mary is preceded in death by her beloved son, Darrell Canup; the love of her life, Sam L Canup II; her parents, Connie Doherty and Clifton Heffington; and her siblings, Darrell Heffington, Gerald Heffington, Chuck Fowler, Donna Fowler McRee and baby Heffington. 

She is survived by her son, Allen Canup; and her daughter, Krystal Canup, as well as her grandchildren, Brandon Canup and his wife, Kristen Canup, Sammy Velasquez, Reyna Marie Velasquez, William Passmore, and Matthew Passmore; Mary was also a proud great-grandmother to Levi Canup, Ava Canup, Evan Canup, and Vivian Ruth Canup. She is fondly remembered by her brothers, James Heffington and his wife, Donna Heffington, Ronnie Heffington and his wife, Janey Heffington; brother in-law, Billy McRee; sister in-law, Laurie Pinson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished her presence in their lives.
