Mary Cavaness, daughter of the late Donald Krauch and Evelyn (Payne) Krauch was born on August 17, 1955 in Bethesda, Maryland and departed her life on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in the Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 69.
On November 18, 1972 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Paul Cavaness at Scott Airforce Base. Mr. Cavaness preceded her in death on June 19, 1993.
She was a homemaker, affiliated with the First Assembly of God Church in Scott City, and a resident of Scott City.
Survivors include one son, Paul Cavaness of Scott City; one daughter, April (Dylan) Cavaness of Scott City; two brothers, Robert Neil (Glenda) Krauch and William Jeffrey Krauch; four grandchildren, Kacie Daigger, Kyle Daigger, Christian Cavaness, and Corey Cavaness; one great-grandson, Nathaniel.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Peter Allen Krauch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Lightner Cemetery.
