Mary Elaine Chambers

Mary Elaine Chambers, artist, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Elaine was born on May 11, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan. "Artist" is listed first because it encompasses her artistic, enthusiastic and loving approach to life and all her relationships.
Raised in Birmingham, Michigan, she attended Marian High School. She studied fine arts and education at Carnegie Mellon University, Center for Creative Studies, and Wayne State University.
She excelled in all creative endeavors, her favorites were sewing, oil painting, glass blowing and stained glass. In midlife she founded a soap and essential oils company, selling her lovingly created products to clients all over the world. Although an artist at heart, her favorite roles were Mother and Wife.
Mary Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marie Blinstrub. She is survived by her devoted son Robert Chambers, her loving husband David Chambers, stepdaughter Ester Naughton (Scott), her brother Robert Blinstrub (Debbie), Maureen Johnson (Dave), Sharon Mulroy (Mike), three grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews, six great nieces and nephews, and her dear Aunt Margaret Pigott.
An outdoor celebration of life service is being scheduled for the summer of 2026. Details to follow.
