Mary Helen Collins, 93, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 13, 1932, in Ashville, Alabama, Mary was a source of strength and wisdom for everyone who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched countless lives. Her legacy will forever remain in our hearts.

Mary was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Barry (Carol) Collins, Lisa (Darrell) Lancaster, and Dennis (Vicki) Collins. Her grandchildren: Clay (Jennifer) Collins, Brett (Katie) Collins, Suzanne (Josh) Moore, Kristen (Eric) Harper, and Maria & Dominga Lancaster. Her Great-Grandchildren: Madilyn & Emma Collins, Jackson, Davis, & Bennett Collins, Callie & Barrett Moore, and Tucker Harper. Her Brother-in-law: Doug Belyeu. Her Sister-in-law: Brenda Collins.

Beloved mother, preceded in death by her Husband, Eldon Robert Collins. Parents: Sam and Thelma Jones. Siblings: Rev. Sam, Bobby, & J.W. Jones and Martha Belyeu.

Pallbearers: Pat Sherrill, Steve Snyder, Clay Collins, Brett Collins, Josh Moore, Eric Harper, Tony Belyeu, and Daryl Collins. Our Honorable Pallbearer: Tucker Harper.

Special Friends: Di Robinson, Becky Oglesby, Jeralene Green, Betty Bone, Martha Lincoln, Donnie Lancaster, Steve & Lynn Hale, and High school friend & cheerleader Joyce Sanders.

Special Thanks: Betty Epps (Our Caregiver), Dr. Layla Wrenn, Dr. G. Patel, Dr. Jeffrey Eberhart, Dr. Chris Knighten, Rehab Partners (Matthew Mills), Riverview regional, Encompass rehab, and Hospice of Alabama (Elizabeth, Shelby, Lauren, Tara, Keisha, and Brian).

Mary was a devoted Christian and a lifelong member of James Memorial Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for over 70 years. Her dedication extended beyond the pews-she gave generously of her time and energy wherever there was a need. She was an active member of TOPS. On Saturdays, she was often at the Talladega Short Track-where a room is named in her honor-or at home cheering on the Auburn Tigers. She rarely missed an Atlanta Braves game during the week and loved traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Her legacy will live on through the memories we shared, the values she instilled in us, and the love she gave. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Memorials can be made to James Memorial Baptist Church, located at 2125 Ewing Avenue, Gadsden, Alabama 35901.
