Mary Evon Coyle, 79, of Celeste, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1945, in Commerce, Texas, to Lee and Mabel Hudson.
Mary dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a certified nursing assistant and within her own family. She was the sweetest, most loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Known for her giving spirit, she always made sure everyone had what they needed—and no one ever left her home hungry.
Family was the center of Mary’s world. Her proudest accomplishment was the love she poured into her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially cherished family holiday cookouts, when everyone could be together to share laughter, good food, and lasting memories.
Mary enjoyed crocheting, with a special talent for creating beautiful doll dresses, particularly Indian doll dresses. She also loved playing Yahtzee, where she was known as the family champion. To Mary, family wasn’t just by blood—everyone who entered her home was welcomed as one of her own.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bertie Austin; her children, Michael Garrett and wife Shelly, Cathy Pitts and husband Steve, Gerald Coyle and wife Denise, Johnny Coyle and wife Anna, and Ronnie Coyle and wife Kristy; her granddaughters, Sheree Schwen and husband Anthony Kirk, Melissa Coyle, Brittany Coyle, Kattie Strickland and husband Cody, Sarah Coyle, Samantha Bailey and husband Steven, and Faith Whitson; her grandsons, James Holleman Jr. and wife Amanda, Dillon Coyle, and Bubba James Whitson; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who loved her dearly.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Coyle; her mother, Mabel Irene Hudson; her brothers, Blenny Hudson, Tom Hudson, and Lloyd Dale Hudson; her sisters, Marita Coyle, Wanda Hansford, and Goldie Marie White; and her great-granddaughter, Kodelynn Clark.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family that will never be forgotten.
