Mary Louise "Lou" Credeur Age 66, of Ferndale, Michigan, left this world on March 24, 2025, but her vibrant spirit and cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Born on March 9, 1959, in Flint, Lou was the beloved daughter of Emery and Arlene (Martin) Kocsis. She touched the lives of many while pursuing her education, graduating in 1988 from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising & Communications. Lou further honed her craft at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia, earning a degree in Advertising Copywriting in 1991. Her writing talent led her to a successful copywriting career in New York, where her wit and creativity shined.

Lou even made a brief appearance as an extra in the iconic “We Built This City” music video by Starship—a fun footnote that perfectly captured her adventurous, free-spirited energy.

She embraced every moment of motherhood with grace and dedication, serving as a homeroom mom, and as a leader in Cub Scouts. Her love for her sons, Beau and Wyatt, was evident in all she did, creating a nurturing environment filled with laughter, love, and creativity.

A great friend to all she knew—whether in New York, Connecticut, Michigan, or beyond—Lou had a gift for making people feel special. She was one of the funniest people you’d ever meet, always quick with a joke, a warm hug, or the perfect sarcastic comment at the right time.

Lou loved taking day trips to Oval Beach, camping up north, attending summer concerts, and visiting Belle Isle Park in Detroit—always making sure to stop by Mom’s Spaghetti on the way home. She made every moment feel like an adventure.

She helped raise and care for the beloved family dog Henry, and was an extreme cat lover—proud cat mom to Moose and Ders, two unforgettable feline sidekicks whose sass, charm, and cuddles filled her home with warmth and character.

An incredibly knowledgeable and talented florist and gardener, Lou knew everything there was to know about all things that grow. Through her business, Aunt Betty’s Garden, she brought life and beauty to countless homes and events across the Metro Detroit area. Her passion for flowers was more than a career—it was her art, her therapy, and her gift to others.

Lou made the absolute best out of every holiday—painting sugar cookies, decorating with flair, and making magic out of even the darkest times. Her spirit of celebration, even in tough moments, was one of her most beautiful traits.

She is survived by her sons, Beau and Wyatt Credeur; her brother, Jim (Cindy) Kocsis; and her sister, Linda (Dennis) Briggs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Arlene Kocsis, and her brother Kenneth Atkin.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. The family will welcome friends to share in their grief and celebrate Lou’s remarkable life. Following the service, her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, alongside her loving parents.
