Mary Jane D'Uva, passed away November 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Ted and her adored grandson James Theodore. Born on December 12, 1929, in NYC, Mary was the only child to her loving parents James O'Connell and Ann (O'Neill) O'Connell. When Mary was in her late teens she modeled for Barbizon. She met her husband Ted at a company picnic and married on October 6, 1951. While raising her children she worked as a teacher's aide at Memorial School in Paramus NJ, where she touched many little lives. She was an active member of the Paramus Republican Club. She volunteered her time working with children who had special needs.
She will be greatly missed by her four children and their spouses, Jim and Cheryl D'Uva, Tom D'Uva, Susan and Ron Thomson, Tricia and Steve Cucciniello her eleven grandchildren, James, Lindsay, Brittany, Kristal, Austin, Tiffany, Alex, Wyatt, Kendahl, Samantha, Olivia, her nine great grandchildren, Aubree, Delaney, Aiden, Carter, Noah, Harper, Jayden, Everleigh and Chanel and her nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation with family and friends on Tuesday November 26, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff NJ. A funeral mass will be on Wednesday November 27, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Paul Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey NJ. A private burial will follow at George Washington Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
