Mary Eamon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home from Dec. 3 to Dec. 4, 2021.
Mary E. Eamon, of Rockland, Massachusetts, age 83, passed away November 29th, unexpectedly in the comfort of her childhood home.
Mary was born on February 21st, 1937 and was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth M. Eamon (DeeDee) and father William A. Eamon. She was also predeceased by her long-term companion and life partner, Alan R. Loveday of Brockton,MA.
Mary leaves behind her "chosen" family including her daughter Cheryl Cronin Messier and her husband Steven Messier. To Cheryl's children, Joseph Messier and Kallie Messier she was "Nana Mary" having given them the honorable role as grandchildren. Mary also left behind her grand dog, Casey who was always given treats by her. Mary also left behind many loving nieces, nephews, and adopted siblings among Alan Loveday's large and extended family who welcomed her into their lives. Mary attended Notre Dame Academy in Hingham and graduated in 1955. After high school, Mary made many friends among co- workers at her job as a meat wrapper at Stop and Shop where she was employed from age 16 to her retirement. She also met her sweetheart and partner ,Alan , at Stop and Shop.
Mary had a heart of gold and lit up a room simply with her smile and bubbly energy. She was the purest woman, who would sit and listen to anyone's problems for hours on end, giving her best advice regarding any situation. She could not be stopped once she put her mind to something.Anyone who knew her instantly loved her and her never-ending sympathy and love for all. Mary found a lot of her joy through her family; from simply sitting at her kitchen table with a bag of cookies talking about everything and everyone, to eating at her favorite restaurant D'Anns in Abington. No matter what was happening, she always took pleasure in being surrounded by family.
On a afternoon during baseball season, Mary would watch the Red Sox game, pitch by pitch. In the off-season one could find Mary watching the Patriots games, at whatever time the game was played. Mary's home was always flooded with pictures of family, saved Christmas cards and old documents and letters from her mother and father.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to a celebration of Mary's life at Magoun-- Biggins Funeral Home ,135 Union Street, Rockland MA, on Wednesday December 8th from 4-7 pm, followed by a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church in Rockland at 9am Thursday, December 9th. Burial will be at St.Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland.
