Mary Kathleen Edwards, a beacon of love and faith, was called home to the Lord on August 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born on May 31, 1968, in Madison, Wisconsin, Mary's radiant spirit was a testament to the joy and light she brought into this world.
Mary's journey on earth was marked by her unwavering faith in Christ, her intelligence, and the immense love she had for her family and friends. She leaves behind her mother, Patricia Hayes, her devoted husband, Jeff Edwards, and her children, Brandon Frost, Nathan Edwards, and stepchildren Michael Edwards and Jessica Edwards, along with their families. Her cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Dean, Karaley, Brayden, Kadyn, Noraa, Elle, and Tesla were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. She was a beloved sister to Paul, Matt, and Vicky and a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews..
Mary's academic pursuits at University Texas at Alington in Criminology and Criminal Justice laid the foundation for her impactful career at the Office of Inspector General in Texas. Her work was characterized by integrity and a commitment to serving others, values that were deeply rooted in her Christian faith. Mary's dedication to her community extended beyond her professional life, as she was actively involved in her church and various associations, where she served with grace and purpose.
A self-taught painter, Mary found solace and joy in the strokes of her brush, capturing the beauty of creation on canvas. Her artwork was a mirror of her soul-vibrant, thoughtful, and full of life. Mary's interests were a reflection of her inner world, where love reigned supreme, and every challenge was met with determination and trust in God's plan.
Those who knew Mary would describe her as loving, intelligent, and faith-filled. She navigated life's trials with a strength that inspired all around her, embodying the words of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This verse was not only a source of personal comfort for Mary but also a message she shared with others, encouraging them to find their strength in faith.
Mary's life was a living sermon, her actions a powerful testament to the love of Christ. She believed in the power of kindness, the strength of prayer, and the importance of community. Her motivational spirit will continue to echo in the lives of those she touched, urging them to live with purpose and to cherish every moment granted by God. Mary's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, yet we are consoled by the knowledge that she is at peace in the arms of her Savior. Her life's journey was a portrait of grace and virtue, and we are all the richer for having known her. As we say farewell to Mary Kathleen Edwards, we hold fast to our cherished memories and the love that will forever connect us to her. Our hearts full of gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her. Her journey may have ended on this side of heaven, but the love she gave and the wisdom she imparted will forever remain. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, where she will eternally paint the skies with the colors of her soul.
