Mary G. Flores, a beacon of love and selflessness, departed this life on July 12, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Houston, Texas, on September 10, 1940, to the late Francisco and Eloisa Guajardo, Mary's life was a vivid tapestry of dedication, kindness, and unwavering faith. She was predeceased by her sisters, Dora Flores and Beatrice Ramirez, whose memories she held close to her heart.
Mary, an alumna of Milby High School in Houston, was a woman of exceptional character and resilience. She embraced her role as a single mother with grace and determination, raising her children Simon Flores, Deborah Flores (Jaime Medrano), and Roger Waller (Olivia) with boundless love and indomitable spirit. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Joshua Flores (Sharon), Ambrosia Flores, Jesse J. Flores, and Christina (Tina) Hernandez (Jose), as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Markai Rainey, Naisia Rainey, Kumani Rainey, Daisy Flores, Manuel (Gordo) Morales, Gianna Hernandez, and Milania Hernandez and sister Tonia Garza and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary's professional journey as a Home Loan Counselor with Acorn at Chase Bank was marked by her compassionate heart and unwavering commitment to service. For over a decade, she empowered countless low-income families to realize their dream of homeownership, leaving an indelible mark on the community she so dearly loved.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her spiritual dedication was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
A loving matriarch and a steadfast friend, Mary's counsel was sought by many. She navigated life's ebbs and flows with remarkable wisdom, and her advice was a guiding light to her family. Her grandchildren, in particular, were the recipients of her boundless pride and unwavering support. Mary reveled in their achievements and celebrated each milestone with joyous enthusiasm.
In every sense, Mary G. Flores was a remarkable woman whose presence enriched the lives of those around her. Her story is one of perseverance, generosity, and a love that knew no bounds. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary soul, we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit continues to shine brightly through the lives of those she touched. Mary will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of love and selflessness will forever remain a guiding force for all who were blessed to know her.
