Mary Frederick Obituary
April 21, 1945 – June 11, 2025
Mary Suzanne (Cordaro) Frederick, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at the age of 80.
Mary was born on April 21, 1945, in Des Moines to George R. Cordaro and Barbara (Day) Cordaro. A lifelong resident of the Des Moines, she graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963. She spent more than two decades working for the Polk County Treasurer. She remained closely connected to her community and her family throughout her life.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Tom (Lisa) Frederick and Jeff Frederick, granddaughters Megan and Maggie, five siblings and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Wing and her brother, Jerry Cordaro.
A memorial service will be held from 12:00–2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial contributions can be made to ALHS Alumni Foundation. Mary's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
