MARY KAY GETROST
Mary “Kay” Getrost, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on November 8, 2022 at the age of 63. She was born to Alice M. (Treadway) Withrow and the late James Williams on March 11, 1959 in Akron, Ohio.
A graduate of Springfield High School, Kay, as she was known to everyone, married her husband, Rodger Getrost and together they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, into their lives. She worked many years at McDonalds and was a valued employee. A very family-oriented person, Kay always put the needs of family and friends above her own and each held a special place in her heart. She was known as “everyone’s favorite aunt.”
Preceding Kay in death was her husband, Rodger and father, James. Kay is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Getrost; mother, Alice Withrow; sisters, Carolyn McDonald, Linda Williams, Betty (Frank) Vance, Cheryl Wright, and Diana Withrow; brothers, J. D. (Vicki) Williams, Michael Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests at Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, 13151 Cleveland Ave., NW, Uniontown, on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until noon, with a Memorial Service immediately following at noon. Pastor Matthias Knopp will officiate.
