Sue Getrost

Susan Jane Getrost, 71, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away at home on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Sue was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 21, 1953, a daughter of the late Phyllis Jean (Trutwin) and Francis Wade Purk.

She enjoyed many things like painting, jewelry making and crocheting, but Sue's best moments were spent with her family and close group of girlfriends. She would even say that her greatest moments were when her grandchildren were born. Sue was an amazing storyteller and almost always had those around her in stitches.  She had a wonderful way with people and made friends wherever she went.

Sue will be sadly missed by her children, Denny (Jessi) Getrost and Laina (Ben) Gross; her aunt who raised her, Jane Ankney; siblings, Gwen Hildum, Dorine Clapp, Wendy Garza, Tonya Swart, Jim Gill, Lou Ann Begley, Tim Ankney, Terri Hopkins, Sandy Cartwright and Janet Schling, and grandchildren, Zeb (Zoe) & Jaidis Getrost and Gabi Gross.

A private family viewing was held at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

Sue's celebration of life is Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Antwerp Community Church of the Nazarene, 704 Erie Street, Antwerp.  The celebration is from 2 PM to 4 PM with a small dedication at 2 o’clock.
