Mary C. Gladden

Mary Carol Gladden (Uhl), age 83, of Litchfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2026. She was born to the late Edward and Catherine Uhl on June 24,1942, in Cleveland OH. In 1960, Mary graduated from Lourdes Academy and began working at Ohio Bell.

In 1963, she married Joe, the love of her life. They moved to Litchfield in 1974 where they raised two girls. She loved her family, her friends, her pets, music, singing, traveling, shopping and most of all, Jesus.

Mary was a proud member of York United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed attending Bible studies and church events. Mary and Joe traveled to the Holy Land several times and enjoyed sharing their experiences with others. In addition to traveling to Israel, they traveled to Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt, with Italy being Mary's favorite. Mary was known for her generosity, her ability to find great bargains, her determination to stand up for what she believed in and her hat collection.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Mark) Haberkorn; her grandchildren, Katelyn, Kyle (Ashlyn), and Kevin; her sister Joan Weber, her brother, William (JoAnne) Uhl, her sister-in-law Dolores Pollack, her brother-in-law, P. Fred (Sally) Gladden; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her daughter Jennifer Gladden, her husband of over 60 years, Joe, her siblings; Edward Uhl Jr., Robert Uhl, Rosemarie Wise and her parents.

The family would like to thank everyone who has supported them throughout Mary's battle with Alzheimer's, especially the staff at Echelon and the Hospice groups who spent time reading the Bible to her, singing with her and taking great care of her throughout these last 5 years.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9th, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Medina United Methodist Church, 4747 Foote Rd., Medina, OH 44256. She will be laid to rest in Litchfield Cemetery in Litchfield, Ohio.
