Mary Goodwin Obituary
Mary Ann and her husband, Robert Goodwin, recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. The NAVY brought them to Virginia Beach where they lived for the last 47 years. Mary Ann enjoyed her nursing career at Sentara Leigh Hospital for over 30 years. Among different positions she served as the Pediatric Unit Manager. She completed the last 20 years of her career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, being recognized by administration, co-workers, and patients. She loved taking care of her family and friends and was an adoptive mother, foster mother, and godmother.
In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother Michael. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob; four children Dennis (Kimberly), Timothy, Michael (Judy), Kimberly (David); grandchildren Hunter (Mélisande), William, Lucas, Robert, Mary; sisters Esme and Kathleen.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Bayside Presbyterian Church, 1400 Ewell Road, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bayside Presbyterian Church in Mary Ann's honor.
