Mary Ruhlman Group

Mary Katherine Ruhlman Groupe, 92, of Hanover, passed away at Homewood at Plum Creek on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Born October 19, 1933, in Hanover. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Savoy Ruhlman, and her siblings, Guy, Violet, Raymond, Kenneth and Junior Ruhlman, as well as her beloved husband of 41 years, Philip G. Groupe.

Mary is survived by her loving daughter Mary L. Groupe Myers, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She worked for Middleburg Manufacturing for 25 years and later retired from Utz Quality Foods with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Westminster Moose Lodge and the Hanover Order of the Elks Lodge # 763.

Mary was a free spirit who brought light and warmth to those around her. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she absolutely loved Christmas, as well as decorating for the holidays or any occasion. She will be remembered for her kind soul, laughter, and the way she made others feel loved and accepted. She lived her life with honesty, openness, and deep care for the people she held close.

A funeral to celebrate Mary's life will be at 12 PM, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331, with Rev. Kevin Orewiler officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be from 11 AM until the start of the service on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the funeral home.

Mary's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Homewood at Plum Creek for the excellent, loving, special care that was provided to her.
