East Bethany - Mary Ellen Heale, age 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.
She was born on May 23, 1955, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Charles P. Kerr and Ellen Hoffman Kerr.
Mary was a graduate of Pavilion High School and dedicated over 30 years of her life working as a waitress at Town & Country in Batavia, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in East Bethany and generously volunteered for many years at the church's annual lawn fete. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially camping, playing Bingo, and her fondness for frogs.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William C. Heale, who passed away on December 11, 2006; her grandson, Ian William Heale; and her nephew, James Corcoran.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Trisha) Heale and Jason (Krissy) Heale, both of Oakfield; her grandchildren, Paige (Carter Augello) Heale and Garrett Heale, both of Elba, MacKenzie Wood and Tyhler Wood, both of Elba; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kacy Gene Augello and Vance and Ivy Grazioplene. She is also survived by her sisters, Debbie (late Karl Klein) Kerr of LeRoy and Georgia (late John Sr.) Geissler of East Bethany; her sisters-in-law, Lori Andrews of Pavilion and Karen Heale of Texas; along with several nieces and nephews, including Lynne Geissler, John Geissler, Jr., Tim (Steve Foster) Adams, and Scott (Kelly Leatherman) Adams, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Nicole, James, and Quinn. Mary also leaves behind several close friends and her beloved dog, Joey.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 pm to 5 pm at H.E Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia where a brief prayer will be held at 5 pm. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia. In Mary's honor, the family has asked to have a tree planted.
