Services for Mary Ruth Herring Skinner, 74, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Skinner passed away on October 9, 2025, in Tyler. She was born on August 31, 1951, in Grand Saline. Mary Ruth was raised by Don and Delois Herring, was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline, and a devoted member of Nazarene Chapel.
She worked as a dietician for many years at Azalea Trails (formerly Grand Saline Manor) and Anderson Nursing Center. She loved everyone she met and, above all, she loved the Lord.
Mary Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Arvel Herring; husband, Henry Skinner; son, Jerry Skinner; sister, Lorna Herring; brother, Bill Herring; granddaughter, Emily Collins; and daughter-in-law, Tammy Bright Skinner.
Survivors include her “Mom” Delois Herring Langston of Grand Saline; son, Ricky Skinner of Greenville; daughter, Tammy Worsen and husband Stephen of Grand Saline; two brothers, Eddie Herring and wife Nancy of Arizona, and Clay Herring of Kansas City, MO; sister, Brenda Finley and husband Chuck of Joplin, MO; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Adam Kuykendall, Christopher W. Kuykendall, Jerry R. Skinner, Jerry J. Skinner, Aaron Skinner, and Christopher L. Kuykendall.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
