Mary Catherine Crump-Jones entered into eternal peace on December 22, 2025. Known affectionately to her family and friends as "CAT".

Cat was born on September 3, 1943, in Hamlet, NC. Cat was the third born of five children to Hardison and Geneva Crump. She attended Monroe Avenue High school in Hamlet. After high school Cat had her only child, and shortly after she moved to Chicago. In 1965 she relocated to Washington, D.C., where she remained.

Cat worked at Hecht's Warehouse from 1982 to 1997. She retired as a caregiver working for Seniors of Special Needs.

Cat enjoyed fishing, watching the Redskins play and spending time with her son and millions of grandchildren.

Cat is survived by her son, Harold Holden Sr, one sister Ruby Hunter, eight grandchildren; Harold Jr, Ayesha, Mark, Damien, Nicole, Erikka, CJ, and Sadee; eighteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; Her special nephews and nieces Jerome Crump, Tobie Hunter Bobby Odem, and Vickie Odem; Her two God-children Telzora Boyd and Judy Allen; Her sisters in love Margie, Shirley, Lillian, and Faye, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Cat is proceeded in death by her mother and father Hardison and Geneva Crump; Three sisters Doris, Betty Sue, and Alice Mae; and her special friend "Eddie".
