MaryAnn (Zembrycki) Kmetz, age 82 of Moquah, WI passed away at Tamarack HealthCenter on March 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
MaryAnn was born on September 14, 1942, to Henry (Hank) and Lois (Mattson) Zembrycki. On January 3, 1959, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Kmetz. She spent many years working at Munsingwear and Memorial Medical Center. MaryAnn and Bob enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing cards with friends. You could often find MaryAnn in the kitchen baking her favorite sweet treats and famous poppy seed rolls and wine breads. Holidays were near and dear to her, and she would spend countless hours ensuring every decoration (trims) and string of lights were perfectly placed around the house and yard. Her home was often a highlight for trick-or-treaters and families out enjoying Christmas lights.
Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and making family memories was extremely important. She loved hosting sleepovers with the grandkids, water fights and yard games. She was notorious for planning trips to the Minnesota state fair and camping excursions in the motorhome. One of her most treasured keepsakes was her Elvis Presley collection, and her memories of a trip to Graceland.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Kmetz and Deborah "Deb" Kmetz; grandchildren, Stephanie (Dustin) Dulak, Robert Durand, Tyler (Henna Sanders) Augustine, Whitney Durand; a special great-grandson Stetson Dulak; her beloved fur baby Jerry; her loving and caring siblings Mark (Betty) Zembrycki, Margaret (Margo) Zembrycki, and Gary (Carol) Banker; a dear friend Brian Eid; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extra special friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert (Bob), her parents Henry (Hank) Zembrycki and Lois England and brother Henry Zembrycki, Jr.
In honor of Mary Ann's wishes, there will be no formal services.
Her memory will be carried on by her loving family and she will be dearly missed.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen, WI.
