MARQUETTE, MI - Mary Lynn LeMaire, age 68 of Marquette, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025 at home.

Mary was born on November 10, 1956 and raised in Marquette, the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Butler) Dagenais, Mary graduated from Marquette Senior High School with the Class of 1975. After high school, she moved to Colorado for a short time before returning home to Marquette to raise her family. Mary began working at Norlite Nursing Center as a cook for a time before starting her career with the Marquette Public School System in the 1990's, where she supervised the playground, worked in the lunchroom, and also served as a bus aide. She retired in 2021 after many years of caring for the children in her community.

Mary had a kind and giving heart and was passionate about helping others. She enjoyed camping in Grand Marais and Hiawatha, playing volleyball, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her caring, compassionate, and loving nature. She gave freely of her time and material goods.

Mary is survived by her children, Brentt LeMaire of Marquette and Shain LeMaire of Marquette; grandchildren, Cheyenne LeMaire and Chelese LeMaire, both of Marquette; brothers; Bob and Tom Dagenais. sisters; Barb Erickson and Deb Trouchaud. and numerous nieces and nephews and good friends Nancy Fletcher and Mona Varney. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters; Sandy Labelle and Karen Marceau, and Baby Brother; Mark Dagenais.

Honoring Mary's request, no public services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, 1105 Norway Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855.
