Mary Linkey Obituary
Mary A. Linkey, 79, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
She was born on April 17, 1944, in Jerseyville, IL, the daughter of Everett and Shirley (Selhime) Layton.
Mary worked at Vono medical in their insurance billing department. She loved watching the Food Network and working on family genealogy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by three children and their spouses, Michael and Lori Linkey of Springfield, Susan and Tim Baumgartner of Camp Point, IL, Stephan and Melissa Linkey of Monroe, MI; her siblings, Sue Myers of Albuquerque, NM; and Daniel Layton of St. Charles, MO; eight grandchildren, Jacob Linkey, Braden Linkey, Darren Linkey, Devan Linkey, Paige Linkey, David and Abby Baumgartner, Taylor Bartolozzi, and J.C. Bartolozzi; and one great-grandchild, Archer Baumgartner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James Layton and Jerry Layton
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home 2521 Edwards St. Alton, IL.
A graveside service will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made to her children to help with funeral expenses.
