Mary Ann Warwick Mackey, age 74, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital in London.
Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Warwick and Ethel Elizabeth Stanley Warwick. A graduate of Lynn Camp High School, Mary Ann was blessed with remarkable talents as a singer, artist, and songwriter. She worked for over a decade at Muddy Boy Records, where she not only recorded her own music but also helped others share their voices and stories through song.
At her heart, Mary Ann was a caretaker. Above all, she was fiercely devoted to her daughters and grandchildren, pouring her time, love, and energy into those she held dear. Her warm spirit touched many lives, and her sociable nature drew friends to her wherever she went. She had an infectious lively laugh and was always on the move, making sure everything was taken care of for those around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchild, Victoria Nicole Johnson, and her nephew, James William Fields.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Mackey; daughters, Crystal Dawn Free (Jonathon) and Kelly Mackey-Meeler (Joshua); her step-grandchildren, who were raised as daughters, Rebecca Hart and Alexis McMahan; grandchildren, Judah Free, Elijah Free, Matthew Hart, Michael Dean Johnson, Jr., and Holden Meeler; stepchildren, Jennifer Lynn Cox and Candy Pram; siblings, Wendelin Warwick and Kathy Fields; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00–2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, KY, where her funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m on Saturday. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy, KY.
