Mary Alice Parker Marthers, 74, of Pacolet, died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her home. A native of Spartanburg, she was born on July 2, 1949, a daughter of the late John Thomas Parker and Vernia M. Wall Pearson.
She was employed with Her Majesty in Union for 18 years, a recruiter for CR England Trucking Company for ten years and then with Wood Fabricators for six years. She was a member of Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church in Pacolet Mills.
Surviving is her husband, David L. Marthers; her children, James Scott Peeler (Tricia), Kevin Ray Chalk (TonJa) and Alisha Renea Seigle (Gerald); eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; She was predeceased by her brother, John Thomas Parker, Jr.; and her sister, Christine Austin.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 2:45 pm Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church, 350 Green Street, Pacolet Mills, SC 29373. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the church conducted by the Rev. Chip Coleman and the Rev. Ralph Jett. Burial will follow in White Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church.
