Mary Masterson

Mrs. Mary Masterson, 96, of Pittsburgh peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in
Sarasota, Florida.
Mrs. Masterson was born on February 14 (Valentine's Day), 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to
the late Dimitrios and Angeliki Gianoutsos. She was a 1946 graduate of Fifth Avenue High
School in Pittsburgh. She worked for Gianoutsos Brothers Painting, and was known as an
extraordinary seamstress and milliner. She was a dedicated wife, and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her son Peter (Teresa) Masterson of Lakewood Ranch, Florida;
daughter-in-law Carrie Masterson of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren Cole
(Carmen) Masterson, Bianca Masterson, Marina Masterson, Sophia Masterson, Gina
Masterson, Carlie (Giovanni) Monteleone, and Alexis Masterson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nicholas Masterson (August 2, 1928 -
October 20, 2018) to whom she was married for 64 years, her son James Masterson (October
18, 1961 - July 31, 2023), her sister Panagiota, and brothers Mike Gianoutsos and Nick Gianoutsos.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, April 11, from 4-8pm at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2630
West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15216 (Dormont). A viewing and funeral service
will be held on Friday, April 12, at 11am-12pm, service starting at 12pm at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 123 Gilkeson Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228. Entombment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
