Mary Frances Mayo

On Monday morning, July 7, 2025, Frances Moss Mayo left this earth for a new adventure in Heaven with her husband, Maxey Mayo, and children, Elizabeth, Robert, and Ruth. She was born January 5, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri to her parents, James and Mabelle Moss. She is survived by her son, James Maxey Mayo; grandchildren, Delaina, Melissa, Robert, and Jennifer; and great-grandchildren. Frances was cared for by a team of wonderful people that were by her side until the moment she took her last breath.

The family would like to acknowledge Linda, Carolyn, and the amazing staff at Brookdale Trinity Towers, The Pavilion, Caring Seniors, Anthems, New Century Hospice, and Harbor Hospice for their commitment and the positive impact they had on the life and well-being of Frances. Frances graduated from Randolph-Maron Women’s College with a Bachelor of Arts, Southern Methodist University with a Master of Arts, and from North Texas State University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Student Services. Frances was a multi-faceted woman who was well-respected by all she worked with. She was involved in a number of organizations and activities throughout her educational career and personal life. Frances was active in the arts, including theatre and music; she was a beautiful harpist. She was also involved in a number of philanthropic endeavors, including being the founder of ACCESS Counseling in Rockport, Texas. Frances was a woman of God and was devoted to serving through various church ministries. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and friend that will be greatly missed.

Viewing will begin at 9am on Saturday July 12, 2025 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, followed by the funeral service at 11am. The graveside service will be held at Beeville Memorial Park on Monday, July 14, at 1PM.
