Mary Frances McAdam

Mary Frances McAdam, lovingly known as DeeDee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, April 14, 2025. She was 88.
DeeDee was born in Orange and grew up in Essex Fells and Mountain Lakes, and settled in Morris Plains. Professionally, DeeDee worked as a medical secretary for over fifty years and retired in 2004.
She enjoyed sports, and was an avid baseball fan. She loved the original NY Giants, the Mets and the San Francisco Giants. DeeDee also spent many years traveling through Europe, as well as island destinations. She was a devout member of St. Catherine's Church. She loved animals, and her pets, especially Pierre and Taffy. She also loved birds of all kinds, but especially cardinals. DeeDee loved the snowfall in winter and also skied for many years. She was a patriotic American, but also loved her Irish heritage. She was a loving and supportive aunt to her nieces and nephews, her great nieces and nephews, and her great-great nieces and nephews.
DeeDee was predeceased by her mother Agnes McAdam, her father William C. McAdam, her sister Joyce Scerbo, her brother Robert C. McAdam, and her nephew and godson Frankie Scerbo. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ben Nita McAdam, her nieces and nephews Jane and Jim Masker, Mark and Susan Scerbo, Carol Barron, John Scerbo, Robben and Dave Richards, Randy and Kim McAdam, her great nieces and nephews Crystal and Dave Starkey, Ryan Masker and Kayla Valdes, Steven and Alex Masker, Robert and Megan McAdam, Kelly McAdam, Coleman Richards, Chandler Richards, Anna Scerbo, Samantha Scerbo, Colin Scerbo, as well as her great-great niece and nephews.
Visiting hours are on Friday, April 25 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054 ( 973-887-3235) Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 26, at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church,10 North Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
