Mary Helen McFadden, 81, passed away on Sat. Nov. 15, 2025, in Pelahatchie, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. Nov. 19, 2025 from 9:30am-11:30am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11:30am on Wed. Nov. 19, 2025, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mississippi State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.
Mrs. McFadden was born in Denver, CO on Feb. 13, 1944, to the late John L. Mitchell and Sula Hill Mitchell. She was a member of Pelahatchie Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving the youth. Mrs. McFadden helped operate Daily Made Doughnuts in Brandon and was a co-owner of Action Fire & Safety in Pelahatchie. She had a love for animals and also worked at Luckett Animal Clinic in Brandon, where she helped groom animals of all kinds. Mrs. McFadden loved cooking, traveling and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved going out to lunch with her “Girls Luncheon Group”.
Mrs. McFadden is survived by her sons, Michael McFadden (Maryann Tigrett Loiselle), Tim McFadden (Cindy) and James McFadden (Lisa); brothers, Doug Mitchell (Yvonne) and Dale Mitchell; grandchildren, Jordan Plunkett (Daniel), Jamie Cox (Rodger), Madeline McFadden, Lennon McFadden, Audrey McFadden, Daniel Dupree and her great grandchildren, Brandon Cox, Riley Cox, Jackson Plunkett, Colton Plunkett, Caliber Dupree and Colton Dupree. Mrs. McFadden is also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ray McFadden and a grandson, Chase Dupree.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pelahatchie Baptist Church at 300 Church St. Pelahatchie, MS 39145.
