Mary McHugh

Mary McHugh (nee McNelis), age 86, of Lindenwold, NJ, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on August 14th, 2025.

Born in Scotland, to her Irish parents, Daniel and Mary McNelis, she carried with her a proud heritage and lasting traditions. In her early years, she moved to the United States, where she would make Philadelphia her home. It was there in 1957, that she met the love of her life at an Irish dance- a chance encounter that blossomed into a lifetime of love and devotion. She loved to dance, read and was a great cook. Mary had a passion for travel and adventure, with snorkeling and exploring new places among her greatest delights. Of all the destinations she visited, Hawaii held a special place in her heart. Above all, she was devoted to her family, leaving them with many wonderful memories.

Beloved wife of Patrick Brendan McHugh. Loving mother of Brendan McHugh (Monique) and Monica McHugh. Dear sister of Marjory McShane, Christopher McNelis and the late John McNelis (Anna). Cherished grandmother of Emily and Megan McHugh. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Relatives are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, August 19th, from 9:00AM - 10:30AM, at the DANKS-HINSKI FUNERAL HOME, 125 N. WHITE HORSE PIKE, LINDENWOLD, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish/St. Lawrence Church, 135 N. White Horse Pike, Lindenwold. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ.
