Mary A. Meyers, 74, of Dubuque, and formerly of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:15a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Church of the Nativity, where the mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30a.m. with Rev. Mary was born on August 1, 1950, to Arthur and Margaret (Hoff) Hoyt in Hazel Green, WI.
She was united in marriage to Philip Meyers on April 20, 1974 at the Church of the Nativity. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1999.
Mary graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1968. She then attended MATC in Madison, WI. Following graduation, she went to work at Mercy Hospital in the data processing department, where she met her husband, Phil. She then went to work at Crescent Electric Supply in East Dubuque, IL.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, Nana and sister. She enjoyed making jewelry, shopping, and lunches with friends. She also loved spending time with her family-who were her true pride and joy, especially her grandson, Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Meyers; grandson, Thomas Meyers; sisters, Carrolyn Hoyt, and Trish Hoyt of Hazel Green, WI; brother, David (Maggie) Hoyt of Prairie Du Chein, WI; brother-in-law, John (Judy) Meyers of Sioux City, IA; her niece, Marsha Meyers, and her nephew, John Scott (Kate) Meyers. She is also survived by many cousins, extended family, and many friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband, and several aunts and uncles.
Mary will be forever loved by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Unity Point Hospital in Dubuque, UW Madison Hospital, and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Chris W, Kristen, and Andy. They also wish to thank Fr. Stephen Audu and the parish nurse, Becky, for their care and concern. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
