Mary Montez passed away on October 4, 2023, at 80 years old. She was born on February 3, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas to Maria and Felipe Quiroz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew T. Montez, and brother, Felipe Quiroz Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Yolanda Ortiz (Arturo), Gloria Hernandez (Pete), and Celia Sanchez; her children Terry Garza, Juan Martinez Jr., Laura Martinez (Julio), Yvonne Gallardo, Michael Martinez, Michelle Casteel, Vanessa Montez Arguello (Michael). She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-granddaughter. She had many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as extended family and friends.
Mary worked for many years as a caregiver and served the community at the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed caring for children and spent a lifetime dedicated to caring and raising children. She was a skilled seamstress and often used her sewing skills to help family and friends. Mary enjoyed traveling and shopping. She was a fashionista and often created her own designs with her Singer sewing machine. She enjoyed celebrating special occasions with her large family and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Vitas Hospice Center for their kindness and loving care at the end of her life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, beginning at 10 am

Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, beginning at 11am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery,
