Mary Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Feb. 14, 2026.
Mary K. Moore, affectionately known as Kayla, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Salem, Ohio, at the age of 73.

She was born on November 1, 1952, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to the late Kenneth and Mary (Tablack) Baird.

Her family eventually moved to Struthers, Ohio, where she attended Struthers High School, graduating class of 1970.

Kayla was passionate about crafting. She turned her hobbies into a business when she opened a craft shop in the state of Washington. She operated the shop for nearly ten years. When she wasn't working at the shop, she found enjoyment in repurposing used items. She would often find items that people were getting rid of and take them home. On her way home, several wonderful ideas would develop on how she could bring the item back to life. Kayla was a very creative and brilliant woman.

She married Barry Moore in June of 1996. Together, they raised chickens and several geese. They also adopted many cats and dogs over the years, giving them a warm, cozy, and happy life. Barry was always Kayla's biggest supporter, whether it was her crafting endeavors or just a creative idea.

Kayla leaves behind her loving husband, Barry Moore, her son Ken (Pam) Zitello, and Barry's daughter, Leona Lee. She will also be remembered by her grandson, Spencer, a sister, Barbara Smith, and a brother, Ken Baird. She will be dearly missed by her family of animals, including two cats and a dog.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Dennis Zitello Jr.

Kayla was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her presence in this world will forever leave an impact on those who knew and loved her.

There will be no services for Kayla at this time.
