Mary J. Morelock

Beverly, MA - Mary Jean (Reid) Morelock, 92, of Beverly, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023 after a brief illness.
Daughter of David Reid II and Catherine (Nicholson) Reid, Mary was born in Salem, MA, and raised in Lynn. She graduated from Lynn English High School, and worked as a dental hygienist before moving to California, and later to New York State to raise her own family. While living in Upstate New York, Mary was very active at The First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa, working at the church library, assisting with the preschool, as well as playing the piano and organ during church services. Mary enjoyed gardening at home, bird watching for her favorite cardinals, and caring for her many generations of black Scotties & white Westies. Mary also enjoyed completing puzzles, and loved creating ceramics and other crafts.
Mary is survived by her son David Munroe and his wife Terri of Beverly, her daughter Elizabeth Albanese and her husband Anthony of Peabody, her daughter Margaret Munroe of Danvers; her grandchildren Leighanne Munroe, Brittany "Britt" Munroe, Mary Hodge and her husband David, Bonnie O'Keefe and her husband Jason, and James Albanese and his partner Cecilia Witzig; as well as her great-grandchildren Gavin, Grayson, Blake, Avery and Gracie. She is preceded in death by her parents (David and Catherine Reid) and her husbands Gilbert C. Munroe and Charles R. Morelock.
A funeral service will be held for Mary on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 10AM at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St. Beverly, MA, immediately followed by interment at North Beverly Cemetery.
