Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home - NatchitochesMary Kathryn (Kathy) Moss Hudson passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025 in Wilmington. North Carolina. Kathy was born in Rosedale, MS to James D and Mary Moss on February 13, 1947. She moved to Natchitoches as a toddler and attended St Mary's Catholic School from kindergarten through high school graduation, and then attended Northwestern to attain a degree In Business. She married Richard Hudson in June of 1967 and they raised their family In Natchitoches.
Kathy brought Incredible energy and enthusiasm to everything she did, and she was involved in many civic and social activities In Natchitoches. including the Jaycee Janes, Northwestern Symphony Society, and the Service League, serving as President and Sustainer Advisor. She served as a Co-Chairperson of the Christmas Festival, and she and Rick were active members of the Mystic Krewe de St. Denis. She was a lifelong parishioner of The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
A successful realtor with Century 21, Kathy achieved membership in their Million Dollar Club, and was a member of the Business Professional Women's Club. After these accomplishments, she turned her attention to screenplay writing and she wrote and produced a movie called "Nursie" filmed in and around Natchitoches in 2004. She leaves behind a script currently in development for filming, as well as a library of scripts brimming with her creativity and humor.
Preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Mary Moss, and her brother, Donald Moss, Kathy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rick; two children, Tracy Sutton of Wilmington, NC and Jason Hudson (Tiffanie) of Houston; and seven grandchildren, Hillary Sutton, Tucker Sutton, Paige Hudson, Megan Hudson, Madison Hudson, Austin Hudson, and Christopher Hudson. She is also survived by two sisters, Sherry Kenney (Mike} of Jonesboro, AR and Emily Pabst (Charlie) of Hammond, La.
The family would like to thank Kathy's many wonderful friends for their kindness during her illness. They were a constant presence, bringing prayers, encouragement, comfort, and love.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Minor Basilica on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 am., with burial to follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery.
