Mary L. Myers, of Grand Blanc, age 86 passed away October 20, 2025, at Abbey Park.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint, MI. Family will receive visitors from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Pastor Sarah LaRose Nettell officiating.
Mary was born January 26, 1939, in Correctionville, Iowa. She grew up on a family farm and was active in 4-H, playing piano and clarinet. She graduated from Correctionville High School in 1957 and Nebraska State Teachers College in 1962 with a degree in elementary education.
She was joined in marriage to Gary Myers on August 15, 1964, and had resided in Grand Blanc, MI since 1968. Mary taught in the Carman School District and would later become a substitute teacher for Grand Blanc Community Schools. She took great pride in her family and was deeply involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities. She enjoyed camping and participating in clubs and organizations such as P.E.O. Sisterhood since Dec. 1960, XYZ, Twins Club and Scouting. Creative and talented, Mary loved quilting, embroidery, cross-stitch, ceramics, music and stamping, often sharing her beautiful handmade works with family and friends. She was a dedicated member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Grand Blanc, where she sang in the choir, played in the Bell Choir, played piano for church services, and helped make chocolates for church fundraisers.
Mary will be fondly remembered by her family, twin sons Jeffrey (Tiffany) Myers and Joel Myers, Jason (Allison) Myers, and her beloved grandchildren Brendan, Owen, and Lillian Myers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gary Myers, her father Bert Fullerton, mother Laura (Brune) Fullerton, brother Rev. Dean (Roberta) Fullerton, and stepmother Frances Hayes.
