Mary Ann Newby, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the age of 78.
Mary was born on June 18, 1947, to Joseph and Regina (Osypowski) Jelinski. She graduated from Wittenberg High School in 1965.
On October 10, 1970, Mary married Daniel Newby, and later welcomed a son, Craig, and a daughter, Laura. Mary was a stay at home mom who was very involved in her children's school activities and enjoyed volunteering at the school and chaperoning their field trips. After the children got older, Mary worked at Fleet Farm for many years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, bird watching, and had a fondness for cats and her grandpup, Lily.
Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years, Daniel; their two children Craig(Sabra) Newby and Laura(Michael) Cotter; two grandsons, Jack Newby and Liam Newby; step granddaughter Sam Cotter; Sister in laws Geraldine Jelinski, Joan Suhr, Margie Newby, Susie(David) Krutza, Cindy Newby, Diane Newby and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Regina Jelinski, in-laws Claude and Mabel Newby; brother Donald Jelinski; brother in laws Robert Newby and Marv Suhr.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday March 16, 2026 at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover. A visitation for family and friends will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Plover Cemetery.
