In Loving Memory Of
Mary Jane "Janie" Page, age 82, of Coal Hill, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Thursday, August 21st, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1942, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Elgin Edwin Hartmann and Ruby Meta (Grobe) Hartmann. Janie graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1959 and later attended Del Mar College. Throughout her career, she worked with Corpus Christi City Transit "B" and at Natural Bridge Caverns.
Janie was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed sewing, jewelry making, and crafting, and especially cherished the adventures of getting lost on long road trips with her granddaughters. She lived a life of service and community, volunteering with the Hagerville Food Bank and participating in the quilters guild. Janie was also a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3455, where she served as President from 2019 to 2022, and as State Auxiliary President from 2021 to 2022.
She was married to Ramond Mickan, Jr. from 1959 until 1981, and later to Carl Gordan Page from 1986 until his passing in 2005. Janie will be remembered as a strong, independent, caring, and social woman who touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her son, James Mickan and his wife Suzannah of Coal Hill, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Amber Vaughn of Coal Hill, Arkansas, and Cristal Harris and husband Ronnie of Coal Hill, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Franklin Vaughn, Lucas Vaughn, Emily Stevens, and Bently Stevens, all of Coal Hill, Arkansas; two sisters, Helen Pratt of San Antonio, Texas, and Cheryl Ann Crowder of Coal Hill, Arkansas; along with a host of extended family and dear friends, including Charlie Pabts and her many FOE friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elgin and Ruby Hartmann; her husband Carl Gordan Page; her grandson-in-law, Franklin R. Vaughn; and her uncle, Franklin Grobe.
A celebration of Janie's life will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
