Celebrating a Life Well Lived
Charles "Chuck" Carl Fallin, age 83, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born on June 1, 1942, in Louisiana, to the late Ira and Sadie Fallin. Mr. Fallin honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, including service during the Vietnam War. After retiring from active duty, he continued his dedication to the Air Force as a civilian employee until his second retirement. His lifelong commitment to service was a source of pride for his family and friends.
Beyond his military and civilian careers, Chuck was an avid collector of antiques and knickknacks. He often could be found browsing local pawn shops and thrift stores or making trips to the swap meet on Petit Jean Mountain in search of unique treasures. Chuck was also known as a trickster, always looking for ways to make those around him laugh. At family gatherings and social events, it was not unusual to catch him leading a lively chicken dance to the delight of everyone present. He loved tinkering on old cars with his friend and neighbor, Earl, and enjoyed listening to old country music with his dear friend Janie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda; and his nephew, Kevin. Chuck is survived by his children: John Fallin and wife Amanda of Huntsville, Alabama; Charles Lynn Fallin of Houston, Texas; Genita Dove and husband Shane of Lubbock, Texas; and Sarah Woody and husband Paul of Lubbock, Texas.; his brother Randell Fallin and wife Shari of Louisiana. He is also survived by his former wife, Nioka Fallin, and his longtime friends Janie, Earl, and Francis. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and one great-grandson, who brought him much joy to him in his later years.
Chuck will be remembered for his dedication to his country, and his community. His love for laughter, simple treasures, old cars, and country music added richness to the lives of those who knew him. His legacy of service, joy, and quiet perseverance will continue through the family and friends who loved him. A memorial service honoring Mr. Fallin will be held at River Glenn Chapel, 1805 North A Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 10, 9:30 a.m., with graveside at 11:00 a.m. at the the Fort Smith Veterans Cemetery, 522 Garland Avenue, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
